Identify your BIOS chip
2 types
32 pin DIP
This is a DIP chip. BIOSMAN only sells 32 pin DIP chips. If you have a 40 pin or a 28 pin chip we cannot help.
32 pinPLCC This is a PLCC chip. BIOSMAN only sells 32 pinPLCC chips. If you have a 28 pin chip we cannot help.

Identify your BIOS company
AMI, Award or Phoenix?

There are a few ways to ID your BIOS company. There are really only 3 (AMI, Award and Phoenix).

Most boards report the BIOS company during POST (The screen that shows information when you first power on your PC).

If you don't remember what company it was, look on the BIOS chip itself. There is a removable sticker. You will remove it anyway to ID the type of chip. On the removeable sticker it will give you the BIOS company name.

All this information is important if you want us to replace, update, upgrade your BIOS chip ( eeprom).
This is a PLCC BIOS chip in a socket. The sticker clearly identifies it as an AMI BIOS.
