NOTE: Most BIOS beep codes are caused by memory problems. Reseat or replace the memory. Video cards are also a popular culprit.

BIOS BEEP codes
AWARD

The only Award BIOS beep code indicates that a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information. This beep code consists of a single long beep followed by two short beeps. Any other beeps are probably memory problems.

Award BIOS outputs some screen errors. View them here: Award BIOS Screen errors.

For diagnosing an Award BIOS problem, beep codes are not that useful. POST codes are. You will need a POST card to detect these codes. When you purchase a POST card from BIOSMAN, you will also receive a manual of all the POST codes for AMI, Award and Phoenix BIOS.

Visit PowerOnSelfTest for more information on POST codes.
